Although colder than normal, it was a bright, sunny day. The first thing I needed to do was a haircut. Just up the road from the Logan Park Hotel was a proper barber shop. Not stylist or cuttery or some such but a simple men’s barber. When the 29 year old Iwona asked me what brought me to the area, I told her I had heard I could get the best haircut in Britain. So, no pressure. My hair was getting ragged with sever hat-head and expecting a hairdryer in a hotel room was sketchy. I explained the simplicity of my needs. Cut all hair that extended past her fingers. Iwoni had immigrated from Poland nearly a decade ago. I asked her how she learned English so well and was surprised to learn that that & Russian were required in secondary school. A short time later I had the haircut I wanted and had been unable to get done properly back in the states. The last few times I had a haircut the cutter had decided I needed fades or more on top or basically not what I wanted. Iwona asked how I would reproduce the cut once back in the States, I asked her to take a photo so I could show the next barber.
Neat, clean & easy to take care of. Thanks Iwona.
