A wee Independence Parade in Edinburgh

by WBlackwell on October 7, 2018

By wee I mean huge!  There were at least 60,000 plus marchers and a solid 20 protesters waving the Union Flag. From my position on the Royal Mile I watched as people tramped by for over 2 hours.  I had heard that the rally was happening after I arrived in Scotland so I decided to visit the capital a second time.

Love the pattern on this kilt.

I’m guessing this is The Bruce

Crowds began to gather 2 hours before kick off. Although at this time most of the flags are held by vendors

Around the corner to Johnson Terrace the crowd was beginning to assemble under the castle

Hard to argue with those sentiments

And how often do you get to wear your favorite suit?

Free speech. With more coppers than protestors

I had seen the sign in the parade: End London Rule. Of course.  Why should one country rule another?

And a few singers were entertaining the tired marchers at day’s end

Walking up Clerk St the sun shone on Arthur’s Seat.
