Wadworth 6X – light color, smooth taste but nothing special 3/5
Sharpe’s Doom Bar – like Wadsworth 6x 3/5
Brain’s Dark – a Welsh smooth black ale 5/5
Brain’s Reverand James- not as dark but just as smooth 4.5/5
Brain’s Bitter – it was. 3.5/5
St. Austell Tribute – Cornwall smooth with a slight, pleasant bitter aftertaste 3.5/5
Felinfoel – Welsh, thin nothing special 3/5
Abbot Ale – smooth, light with bitterish aftertaste 3/5
Caledonia Best – Not Belhaven Best but nearly as good, gold, smooth 4/5
Menabrae – Italian?? like Bud 2/5
Belhaven 80 shilling – smooth but not their best – 3.5/5
Belhaven St. Andrews – better than 80 Shilling but again not Best or their Scottish Ale 3.5/5
Guinness Golden Ale – if you drink G, drink stout 3.5/5
Guinness Hop House Lager 13 lighter than stout, better than Golden Ale 4/5
Gogarty’s Irish Stout – house stout at famous Pub very smooth 4.5/5
Tiger – India, below average lager 2.5/5
Vagabond Pale Ale – Brewdog Gluten free and for a GF not bad 3.5/5
Dogma Scotch Ale – Brewdog black, hint of honey 7.4% so be careful 4.5/5
B-Side Milk Stout – Brewdog delightful first sip, thick, chocolate 4.7% good after food 5/5
Guinness Stout – on draught, in Dublin doesn’t get much better 5/5
I used to have a keg of Belhaven Scottish Ale in my former house, so that is the benchmark. I don’t think there is a better ale than this one.
