Bought a new iPhone 13 Pro Max before the trip. Great camera & 256Gb! but I wasn’t aware that the new iPhones don’t capture photos in jpeg but rather a more ‘efficient’ manner that is not compatible with WordPress. That meant until I figured out ho to convert, I could not post this trip, relying of FB to let people know I lived. Once back Stateside, a Genius at Apple emailed me a step by step walkthrough so I could now remember, reconstruct and post this 2 month Wander. I’ve selected about 1000 photos to share.
When I left the UK in January 2020 I assumed I’d be back in the autumn. I just didn’t expect it to be autumn 2022!
During the pandemic, the direct flights from Hartford, CT to the UK hd been eliminated (coming back in 2023) meaning a lift to the bus terminal then the bus to S. Station Boston where I always have a slice of the best pizza there is.
The Sakura Guest House on W Preston St, has been my bed of choice the last few trips to the capital but it wasn’t available and probably not open rather than sold out so I decided to try Leith. Tram construction had me walking as bus stops were closed traffic on the Walk resulting an a first day of 22,494 steps!
The wee Adelphi Hotel was clean & at a fair rate and the manager showed me the closest working bus stand. After checking in it was back into the center.
Lovely day and so good to be looking at the details of the largest monument to a writer in the world once again.
The Malt Shovel was the first pub for a Belhaven Best. There will be more. Many more!
Feeling peckish, there was only one thing that will satisfy a 2+ year old hunger and the Arcade had it!
