Boka Hotel

This hotel is worth a mention. At less than $100/night with full breakfast, in London, I found it clean, with comfortable bed, good WiFi, a microwave, refrigerator and good water pressure.  5 minute walk to tube and a friendly staff.  It the last that required a post.  The man on the front desk, Spencer, did me a real solid.  I  have changed my plans to fly to Belfast after going over my trip with my mother.  Her father was born in Liverpool and his business took him back to England from his home in NY every other year and when they went they stayed at a house he had purchased for his sisters.  She told me the address and StreetView gave her a picture of the house.  She hadn’t seen it in nearly 70 years, so I’m off to Liverpool. I’ll take the ferry to Belfast instead.

That brings me back to Spencer.  When I told him I would be headed there by coach or train he offered to see what he could do.  The train during peak hours is something close to £ 170.  Not only did he find me an off peak one for £35, he booked it and called me last evening to let me know he had received and printed my boarding pass and it was in my mailbox.  Service like that usually can only be found in fancy hotels with  a concierge.  The savings nearly covers my room in Liverpool.

Not fancy, but a good place to stay.

I’m looking forward to a travel day.  I need the break.

Thanks Spencer & Boka Staff!

Fancy service in fancy hotels but its all quid pro quo. I hope you gave Spencer a quid or two for services rendered.
