I started the day with breakfast at a little place and my new pal Lewis Peck before he headed to his Royal Mail job. St Alkmunds is nearby the inn andI heard a piano so popped in. Nothing to look at outside, but a nice place of worship. The pianist, Bertwyn, is Welch and noticing he was playing without shoes on a cold stone floor, I had to comment. That led to a chat for well over an hour.
3 Fishes across the street and more conversation.
And a half of Ludlow & New Sense. Both good
And more good beer and craic in the Nags Head.
In back of which is this structure, the oldest in the city, dating from 1420
Open mic night at The Bull Inn and it was great.
Ollie Jones was here for the first time and shared one his own compositions.
Later Lewis Peck, who I had had a nice and long chat with the night before has only been playing live a few weeks. Pretty good.
I can’t understand it when people book a room over a bar and then complain about noise. I enjoyed the end of the night from my room.
