Carrick-a-Rede

by WBlackwell on September 13, 2018

When I crossed the 20m/66ft rope bridge swinging 30m/98ft over the rocks below apparently I notched another island, Carricarede means “rock of the casting” in Irish.  I bought a Rambler ticket that allowed hop on/off all along the Causeway Coast. I arrived to the first rainbow of the 3 I saw today.

With the high number of caves along the coast smugglers had a variety of locations for their hauls to be stashed.

A real bridge to nowhere operated by the National Trust with near 500,000 punters like myself visiting each year.

This pile is Dunluce Castle but between the 15th & 17th centuries was once a powerful coastal defender

And then on to Kinbane Castle.  By my step counter a good 500 down and 1,ooo,ooo up!!

More caves

No Kilt Rock but a nice waterfall
