As I have noted previously, City Halls are always worth checking out and Dublin was no exception. Most of the building was closed as it was a business day but the rotunda was nice and the basement has a history of Dublin exhibit
And remember to always look up. This ceiling was stunning. The photo does not due justice
Quick aside. In both the UK & Ireland you see public notices about harassment and violence against women. While walking to the City Hall I saw a middle age drunk smack a middle age female drunk. When he moved to do it again, I stepped in and stopped him. He did not know how to respond to this confrontation. The woman ran or more staggered away and as he continued following her, I cintinued cutting him off. He tried to tell me it was none of my business and I simple said his action had made it my business and that if he touched her, I would touch him. Finally, since he would not stop, I grabbed him and pushed him against a wall. At that point 3 20ish German lads joined me explaining to the drunk they would not allow him to pursue her either. Realizing the hopelessness of his efforts he stopped his pursuit turned and pissed the wall and the woman escaped. He will probably find her later but for the moment she was free. The lads and I spoke for a couple minutes agreeing that such action could not be tolerated. I thanked them for their support and they thanked me for beginning the action. Was it a smart move on my part, probably not, but it was a neccessary one.

God Bless you Bill. Good for you. Thank you…yes it was dangerous, but you responded appropriately.
Again thank you for all women who live in fear, no matter what their circumstances. Also, glad the
German lads responded and helped you out. It’s called grace. And I am glad you are ok.
