Dunbar

Dunbar was a gap in my circumnavigation of Scotland/Britain. So I decided to fill it.  Nice old town with great seafront & harbor

Old castle and forts too

After John Paul Jones scared Leith, Dunbar built a fort in fear of being attacked

A young John Muir

For a dozen years or so I had a keg refrigerator where I dispensed Belhaven Scottish Ale, export only, and I was the only person in Massachusetts who had it on tap.  I used nitrogen not CO2 to produce a smoother, burbless tipple generally rated as the Best.

And the Royal Mackintosh is one of the nicest hotels I’ve ever stayed in in Britain. Nice pub, 300 steps from the rail station and the local butcher’s  haggis was also some of the best ever and Stornaway Black Pudding
