Ferens Art Gallery

by WBlackwell on March 21, 2019

Hull really does have a lot to offer for someone with my interests of history, water, galleries, museums and pubs.

The Ferens Art Gallery reminded me of another but which?  I’ve seen so many. Maybe Manchester or Perth?

The gallery is next to the Prices Quay shopping mall with a serious Koi pond!

A wood Hercules by Antonio Maragliano c.1700 and Bleick gives us Alexander the Great slaying his general, Cleitus, the not so great, 1663

J. de Beuckelaer depicted a Fish Market in 1570

AA McEvoy painte Mrs Johnson in 1922

Edwin Landseer is one of my favorite painters.  His brother Charles painted Margaret Roper collecting the head of her father, Sir Thomas More

I’m not familiar with cricket but I think this guy missed the ball. Wm. Keyworth, 1895.  Ms Strickland was magnetic. G. Brockhurst called it “By the Hills” in 1939
