Glasgow

by WBlackwell on March 16, 2019

Since the weather and off-season ferry schedules pretty much ruled out any chance to see any islands other than Lismore, I took the train to Glasgow. Along the way I was reminded it was March

I have to find a place in Glasgow that isn’t at the top of a hill!  So far I’ve stayed on Renfrew St every visit. Handrails to get up the sidewalk? Seriously!

This part of the city has had some bad fires over the years.  The fire that destroyed the Glasgow School of Art a few years ago, (the building was designed by the art nouveau architect and designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh) was hit again just when it was nearly completion this time spreading to adjacent buildings

Having been to Glasgow many times today i just went for a wander

Near my hotel there is a great overlook with panoramic views of this fine city.  I believe that is the Sikh Temple

I don’t know how fast a 2 legged horse can move but Lobey Dosser has entertained for 70 years

Glasgow is a mural city. This beauty is in a pedestrian underpass

St. Paddy’s Day fun
