Glenfiddich

by WBlackwell on November 9, 2022

Took a bus to Cullen one day & Nairn/Forres the next.  When asked for suggestions at the bus depot, I found myself in Dufftown home of the William Grant’s Glenfiddich distillery and others.

All over the UK at this time of year you see memorials here, they will never forget because they suffered.

The Grants

The tour guide was excellent.  Really knew his stuff and presents it well

Some 1,500,000 liters of whisky are aging in casks here.  The pagoda like tops often seen on distilleries were for exhausting the fumes.

Viewing holes to see the process.

Considering this is as symmetrical as a web could be, alcohol fumes don’t seem to have caused Charlotte any bother.

The place is massive!

And that wee burn supplies all the clear clean water for all that whisky!

And now to taste the finish product.

Excellent!
