Goose herding

by WBlackwell on November 14, 2022

I think I’ve been to Plockton more times than any place in the UK. And have more friends there than Stateside so it was more than a shock when Booking .com informed me that the room rates at the Plockton Inn were £500/night!  Not only does that seem like a lot, it was considering the last time I stayed it was between £50-75. So I posted my disappointment on FB and was surprised when my friend Jane MacKenzie let me know her Dad Curly’s old apartment was available!! The only downside was that Jane was in France.

As I was stumbling with the luggage by the apartment, I heard my name called and saw Annan & Jill Dryburgh, who lived in the building.  Been ages. So after I dropped my kit, I went to their flat and noticed some nice dried hams.

We late went to their croft

If you hit the IMG 7854 there’s a short video of the title characters at their croft.  Having now added goose herder to my CV, I stuck a Snow White feather in my hat which is still there.

Oil rigs are hauled in for apparently no other reason than to be eyesores.

Andy Will makes some of the best beer.

Simple day visiting old friends.
