My friend Alasdair had recommended Holmwood House designed by the architect Alexander “The Greek” (after his style) Thomson located in Cathcart.
Unfortunately, it’s not open Mon-Wed so all I got to see were the exterior and grounds. But since the rail ticket with return was only £1.50, no loss. I’ll see it next time.

With time on my hands, first went to the Buchanan St. Apple store to charge my phone. I saw a lad in a Franklin & Pierce hoodie and, since I couldn’t recall exactly where it was I asked him. He laughed and said he didn’t know in a London accent. Shingai Dadzo was born in Zimbabwe and we had a nice chat for 1/2 hr waiting on our phones. Now I know 2 Africans.
The City Council Chambers in Glasgow is one of the nicest I’ve seen and the exterior artwork reminds one of the need to look up.
There is a large kerfuffle in America going on about NFL players taking a knee during the playing of the Anthem in protest, not of the song or flag but basic discrimination. And where better to support those simply asking for equality than by the statue of Nelson Mandela? He was honored here in Glasgow when he was still in jail for his resistance to apartheid and it was one of the first places he visited once free.

Morning WB, it looks like you’re having fun in the UK. Holmwood House is a great historical place, I visited the place many years ago. I will visit Holmwood House once again as my work in that part of the world is not fully complete yet… I was reading an old book on Count Dracula recently, Holmwood was his nemesis. Small world.
