Inn Sessions

by WBlackwell on December 31, 2016

Many people visit Plockton regularly but I visit the Plockton Inn.  My first time was in 2007 with a desire to see palm trees so far north of Moscow and after advice from an on-line friend I made sure I was here for the weekly Thursday night local musician session. In addition to the music the Inn is, as I’ve mentioned before, is a very good restaurant with it’s own smoke house. Without a car, and especially on a rainy but very warm day (12c/54f), there is little to do but a leisurely constitutional to work off my full-on breakfast.  Since I’ve logged a fair amount of miles on foot so far, taking a break to do very little is a welcome change so the fibro can ease off a tad and a couple of great meals, music and conversation is as good an objective as a castle or museum is in other environs.

And from the back and the trail over looking the harbour.

Last night’s session was brilliant.  The band never sounded better and the crowd was all-inn. Unfortunately, being a computer bonehead, I have yet to figure out how to imbed videos into my posts so you’ll have to wait until I figure that out to enjoy the songs I recorded.  Each time I try I get a message telling me the file is too large.  If anyone can give assistance I would be grateful.

I’ll be getting out of everyone’s hair here in Plockton on Monday and head to Glasgow. A side trip to Stirling Castle & the Wallace monument are hoped for.  I’d like to see the Falkirk Wheel but considering the time of year I doubt it will be in motion.

After that I head to Berwick-on-Tweed for a couple days and then to York.
