My first trip to the original Manchester was to show solidarity with the city after the Arena terrorist attack bombing.
Stepping out of Manchester Piccadilly rail station I saw this WWI monument
I wasn’t keen on the label but Trooper was one of the better pints I’d had so far. Curious why the bar keep was rimming some of the glasses in a sponge he showed me this lipstick remover. Maybe the lasses should have put it on before drinking!
This active basin was built to keep the canals, which are dominant in this section of the city from overflowing
Manchester at night highlights a growing city of nearly 3 million challenging Birmingham for second city honors
Next up Gretna, the marriage capital of Britain. I was curious about how a border town felt on BREXIT. Most folks I spoke with were exhausted with the process and, according to a leafleter, had accepted the Leave campaign mistruths like a mandatory hard border, the need to carry both GBPs & Euros and the big lie of Brussels telling the UK what do do. I call that the big lie because since 1999, the UK has voted with the EU on over 95 % of laws passed. Ironic that when Scotland uses the same argument of being controlled by another country, and with English MPs out numbering Scottish one in Westminster by a 9-1 margin, What England passes Scotland must accept.
And my fist haggis, needs & taties in 8 months hit the spot
