Oban

by WBlackwell on March 14, 2019

Hoping the weather will allow some island hopping, I headed to Oban but it didn’t co-operate.

The view from my room looked gnarly.

A couple good chip shops at the harbor

McCaig’s Tower sits emptily on the hilltop

The signage on the Chocolate Shop wall drew a smile

a few year ago Hurricane Irene wracked Cape Cod.  a couple days later I was in Oban just after the storm’s remnants hit the west coast of Scotland.  It appears that I’ve missed another by all the debris on the promenade.  The WWI War Memorial

Near the we lighthouse we see another Fingal leftover

My custom made Red Sox WS cap

My window is over the door on the right

Lismore is a wee inland island and the winds were not too bad so I jumped a quick ferry only to find that on the best of days there is nothing to do on the island but walk and today was not a walking day.  No pub either so I touched and got back on the boat

Finishing up at he Oban Inn pub
