Park de la Montana & The Templo de Debod – Madrid

by WBlackwell on May 4, 2018

Doing from about 2 B.C. this temple stood near the site of the current Aswam Dam in Egypt.  Spain was one of the countries that sent a team to help move divers UNESCO sites that were threatened to be submerged by the new dam.  As a thank you, Egypt offered the Temple of Debod to Spain who preceded to dismantle it stone by stone and rebuilt here in Madrid in 1986.

Along the way to my next destination this captivating statue required a quick visit. It commemorates the Civil War

Quixote & Sancho Panza

This is in the parking lot of one of the government buildings
