Queen’s Walk

by WBlackwell on April 28, 2017

On the south side of the River Thames there is a walkway.  The first building I went in was City Hall since some, like Belfast or Glasgow are pretty cool and open.  Others are not. There was a very small amount of London’s City Hall open to the public and the building itself is new so there is nothing of historical interest like the aforementioned others.

But there were some children’s drawing contest winners.

Next stop HMS Belfast. A light cruiser launched March 17, 1938 and decommissioned in 1963. It’s now part of the Imperial War Museum. I visited other branches last January if you want to see.

This crane was used to bring the scout seaplane aboard and the door cushion works!

The HMS Belfast Trust did a nice job showing life at sea and the ship is impressive.

This is the captain’s position and view

Crying because of KP duty or onions?

Doc cutting patient & chef frying fish and chips.

But real, not (shudder) mushy peas.

I don’t know what he did, but I’m guessing he wishes he didn’t.  A little issue in the Tube station.
