I first added the word “conurbation” to my lexicon in reference to the way Edinburgh and Glasgow and all the towns directly between have turned, in one way, into one continuous urban area. The two cities are different, of course, and both wonderful in their own unique ways and I’m sure many folks in between would take exception.
So it was off to Glasgow, and once there, a wander. Suddenly I came across my fav, CR Mac. To have just one chair, one room divider of his and I’d die a happy man. There is an armadillo in Glasgow and today it held a show for holiday parks
And if you haven’t been at Kelvingrove for a few months go because the old is great and the new is stunning. “Dippy” for instance, on a visit from London certainly qualifies for stunning.
Ballet star Anna Pavlova was captured by John Lavery. I love the Floating Heads, apparently and thankfully a permanent exhibit by Sophie Cave they always delight.
Mary Pownall’s The Harpy Celaeno is a bit scary.
Her Majesty has a pretty good art collection that I have yet to be invited to see but, like the rest of us common folk, when she put her collection of Leonardo da Vinci sketches on tour in a dozen UK cities, I jumped.

The Park Bar seemed like a good place to dispel any peckish feeling and quench a thirst.
Caledonia Best this time and a plate of very good haggis (the Ubiquitous Chip should get the recipe) with neeps (turnips) and Tates (mashed potato). This one will be revisited next autumn when and if I get back to the UK
