Rainy first day in Stirling

by WBlackwell on December 2, 2019

As I usually do upon arriving I took a stroll around the city.  Joked that I didn’t know the Wallace Monument was in the heart of the city! It isn’t.

The Poet. It’s more unusual to not find a statue of Rabbie Burns in a Scottish city than it is to find one.

Some cretin, probably drunk, broke Rob Roy MacGregor’s sword off.

Some views near the castle.  I had been to Stirling Castle before http://www.wanderingwith.me/sterling-stirling/

So on a cloudy day, I saw no point in a repeat other than a look at the outside.

Brilliant marketing to create Brewdog.  The owners sold shares to customers and now can sell over-priced, high octane beers in some 120 pubs and from a brewery in Ohio.

This local on the other hand offered the more reasonable £3.25 pints and a bit of craic.
