Before you read this, if you are following in order, due to WiFi issues I missed some of the Belfast trip. Check out “A little more Belfast”
The best WiFi at Tigh na Mara due most likely to the thickness of the old walls, is in the pub. Or it’s just a scheme to sell more beer. But I’m going with the first. There I met Guy & his wife who had just returned from holiday in Cuba. They told me the place was full of Americans! I mention this because the bus to the Stranraer rails station left earlier than I had been told and I found myself hitch hiking once again. And one of the first cars to come by was Guy. Another good start!
Guy dropped me off at the train station. The ferry relocated to Cairnryan a few years ago and Stranraer has yet to recover. I thought this sign smacked of irony. What do you think?
Guide dogs/observation deck? Maybe it’s me.
It was cold and very windy waiting for the station to open. Tee shirt, button-down, jumper, fleece vest and coat. By the time I reached Arran I was down to shirts. Scottish weather.
Ailsa Craig is a volcanic plug 16 miles off the mainland. This was taken near Girvan
Change trains at Ayr, then again at Killwinning and I was at the Ardrossan ferry terminal.
