It was getting late after St. David’s but we stopped by to see this very old and small church.
The last “invasion of Britain” was by 1400 French troops, led by an American, Col. Willaim Tate, on February 22, 1797 in Fishguard Harbor.
Apparently at some point the French sought shelter in the church and after being confronted by 500 villagers and militia, surrendered on the 24th, although not at the church.
The church is obviously still used.
