The Italian Chapel

Interesting morning.  It’s the offseason and I am the only person in the inn.  The owners live elsewhere.  I got up feeling a little peckish only to find I had not made a very good impression as I was forgotten.  The kitchen was locked and there was no one in the building.  Weird feeling.  But I had bananas, cheese and a roll in my kit with coffee in room so,  sorted.

 

Built by Italian POWs during WWII. No fences needed for this camp as Scapa Flow did the job. Two quonset/Nissen metal huts transformed into a chapel. Lamb Holm island

Scraps & leftovers.  That’s what they built the chapel from.  The ceiling was brilliant
