For once, a travel break! The walk from the Lomond Park Hotel to the train station was only around 100 meters. Less than an hour later I was hailing a cab to get from the Charing Cross train station to the hotel. The streets were a little too much to tackle with a backpack & dragging my bag.
When I got to the hotel it was too early to check in so I asked to leave my bag in the lobby but before I could tape the name sheets to the second bag I was told a room was available. I had reserved a single which I expected to look like this
which was totally acceptable but they gave me this
And the included breakfast would make my Dad smile. Old G likes to start the day with cereal
and the 4 types on the left are all his brands. But he doesn’t mind second breakfast at all. Toast you make yourself, muffins, croissants, apples, bananas, tea, juice, yogurt, fried or scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potato scones, hash browns, beans, black pudding, mushrooms, grilled tomato, and today, haggis!
And for £10 over two weeks of laundry were cleaned by the hotel.
Sometimes you do win one.
