Let me begin by saying this museum is fabulous but they don’t allow photos inside so I took copious notes (& a few Pics) and then downloaded the pictures shown from the internet.
Francisco Goya stands in front of the main entrance.
And this detail is simple gross
But this street performer cracked me up. After the donation we chatted for a bit, his English was very good, but it was a wee bit surreal considering all I could see was his face. It must get pretty uncomfortable for many of these performers in inclement or hot weather
Remembering that I had to write down the artist & title then go online to look it up and download, don’t be disappointed if some photos have no cations, now let’s go inside:
I’ll start with The Defense os Zaragoza by Antonio Canova
The Temptation of St Anthony Abbot by Patinir
The Wine of St Martins Day by Pieter Bruegel the Elder.
The Crucifixion by Juan de Flandes
Mona Lisa is a replica of the original done at DaVinci’s School
??
Charles V & Fury byLeone Leoni
These downloads are The Story of Nastagio degli Onesti by Botticelli. The violence was what made me select them
Venus by Bandinelli
Sleeping Hermaphrodite by Bonuccelli
The Three Graces by Rubens
The Punishment of Thythus by Titian
The Martyrdom of St Phillip
Forge of Vulcan – Diego Velasquez
The Garden of Earthly Delights – Hieronymus Bosch This one is amazing in person
From Goya we have Stilts
“The Execution of Torrijos and his companions at Malaga Beach”- Antonio Gisbert
The dignity of the men drew me in
Daughters of El Cid – Dioscoro Puebla
St Elizabeth of Hungary – Vallmitjana
